ABOUT BOUNCY BASKETBALL

Bouncy Basketball is a retro two-dimensional match in which the athletes hop automatically and the entire attack can be controlled with one button. The challenge is deciding when that bouncing motion should turn into a shot.

The minimalist inputs create surprising depth: a timed leap can block an incoming ball, while a high release can send a long shot across several players.

HOW TO PLAY BOUNCY BASKETBALL

  1. Press Space or click to make your team jump.
  2. When the ball carrier reaches the top of the bounce, release the button to send the ball toward the basket.
  3. Watch the opponent's release for a defensive block.

Controls

  • Jump / control shot: Space or left mouse button; release near the jump's peak

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • When the other player jumps first, use the falling phase to send the ball over their head.
  • Stay between the rival and the hoop when defending, making the opponent shoot across your jump path.
  • For a long three-pointer, position deep on your side, hold through the climb and release sharply at the top.
  • Wait until the opponent has actually released a shot before triggering your block, so your player rises into the ball's path.
  • Blocking is an intercept, not just jumping while the opponent holds the ball. Read the real throw first, then rise into its path.

FAQ

How can a jump stop an opponent's shot?

Time your jump after the rival releases so your player rises into the ball's path instead of blocking too early.

Can the same button defend and attack?

Yes. A timed jump can challenge a shot, while a release with possession sends the ball away.

What makes a long shot possible?

A high release and the ball's bounce physics can send an attempt across much of the court.

What makes this different from realistic basketball?

The exaggerated bounces and simple inputs turn ordinary shots into unpredictable aerial exchanges.

Why does releasing the button matter?

The shot is timed to the ball carrier's position in the bounce; releasing near the peak changes the flight path.
